Sunday 8 February 2015

After an incredible week and a very long journey yesterday we are all home safe and sound. Thanks to everyone that made the trip so special but especially to Tracy for organising such and amazing experience. Well done everyone.

Friday 6 February 2015

Our final evening.

Well what to say, an incredible final day finished off with an award ceremony with Helena and Aymeric our instructors for the week.

Well done to everyone for working so hard over the course of this week. It gives me great pleasure to tell you our skiers of the week are Scarlett and Reece.

Ice cave and sculptures.

2700m up the mountain we visited an ice cave filled with amazing ice sculpture's.

Pretty impressive.

All the way to the top !

This morning a group of us took the cable car up to the highest point in Alp D'Huez. 3330m above sea level, the visibility wasn't great and the wind was very strong but we still managed to get a few pictures.

Safe to say we felt on top of the world!

Tim, Paul and Stefan take on the Sarenne

Yesterday Tim, Paul and Stef ski'd the longest black run in Europe.  At 16km the Sarenne is one of the hardest and most gruelling runs around and the guys managed to navigate it unscathed in just over an hour.

Well done guys !!

Good morning from Alp D'Huez

Well what a week it has been, sadly it's the final day of our trip.

Last night we enjoyed a game of lazer quest as our evening entertainment. It was a student team of Adam, Kieran, William, Anthony, Elliott and Reece vs a staff team of Adam, Kryzstof, Tracey, Jo, Paul and Cameron.

Staff won the overall game by 150 points but it was Elliott who was the most valuable player.

We returned home for another go at the logo game, in which the quiz queen Tracy was dethroned by Jo, Scarlett and star player Cameron.

Finally some action shots !

Hi everyone, apologies for the slightly later blog than usual. Last night we got carried away playing The Logo Game ( another win for the general knowledge whizz that is Tracy Willers and her partner Harvey) and before we knew it was time for bed.

Just to let you all know everyone is doing fine apart from a few bumps and bruises and a few more tired legs.

Below are some great pictures from yesterday on the slopes.

Keep an eye out later on this evening for more pictures from in resort.

Tuesday 3 February 2015

Wow, what an incredible (if not slightly exhausting) day

Hello, from Alp D'Huez. Word has reached us of the snowfall at home and after seeing some photos online we are all far from impressed.

Today has been a massive success for everyone involved but for three students in particular today proved to be the most successful day on the slopes so far.

Today Cameron, Mia and Reece all mastered the snowplough and were able to navigate slopes with correct turns and superb control.

It was also a big day for another one of our groups, today William, Keiran, Elliott, Harvey, Adam and Kryzstof ski'd down their first ever red run. Just one away from black, the hardest runs out there.
They also got the chance to have a play in the ski park, which included different obstacles and some small jumps.

This evening everyone seems very tired but after lasagne for dinner we all managed to gather up enough energy to try bum boarding. Which Cameron thinks is "awesome".

The only other news this evening is that Elliott now has his own fan club of Scottish girls staying in our hotel that have been following him everywhere. And after last nights Wii session William is undisputed boxing champion and Harvey's not bad at golf either.

Good night missing you all.

Good evening from Alp D'Huez

Another great day of skiing for everyone involved today. The weather has been a lot clearer with  the sun shining throughout. Keep an eye out on the school website for video footage of some of our ski runs taken this afternoon via our GoPro.

Award for Buff style of the day goes to Stacey.

Rocking it Stacey. Followed closely by Elliott with another cool look.

This evening we had a chicken curry for dinner followed by a fruit salad.

Afterwards there was some time for shopping in the town.

The rest of the evening was spent in the hotel's games room playing Pool, Table Football and Nintendo Wii.

Students are currently getting into bed, preparing for another big day on the slopes tomorrow.
We leave you with one of today's highlights, Anthony managing to put Paul's helmet on by mistake.

A bit on the large side Anthony.
Good night all.
